There was much excitement in the Starling household when we heard that Basement Jaxx were playing a DJ set at Brighton seafront club, The Arch on Friday 8th December. We’ve long been fans of the electronic music duo, who appeared on the dance music scene in the early ’90s when we were fresh young things living the dream in London.
Who doesn’t remember their 1999 album, Remedy or the unforgettable Rooty, released in 2001. We spent a lot of time following the DJs around London back when we actually enjoyed going to clubs, with many memorable nights spent at Brixton’s George VI and The Crypt, where they held regular nights.
That’s why we’ll be heading to The Arch to relive some old memories and make some new ones. Plus, it’s Brighton Starling’s birthday that weekend, so it’s the perfect excuse to celebrate in style and dance to some banging tunes. We just hope they play Romeo. See you on the dancefloor.
