Oxjam Brighton is hosting an intimate launch party at The Blind Tiger Club on Wednesday 15th August. Featuring a fantastic line-up, including local bands Kings Mews, Wide Eyed Order, Early Ghost and Tides, the launch event is set to raise awareness of the main event that takes place throughout October.
Oxjam is Oxfam’s month-long music festival, with hundreds of events happening all over the UK, organised by volunteers who know and love their local music scene, raising money to save lives around the world.
Launched in 2006, Oxjam now boasts the UK’s biggest festival line-up and is set to be bigger and better this year. Since its launch, almost 45,000 musicians have played to over 900,000 people at around 3,500 Oxjam events nationwide. Through the events Oxjam has raised over £1.8 million: enough to buy 15,000 emergency shelters, 70,000 goats or 1,050 classrooms.
Get down to the Blind Tiger Club on 15th August to meet the bands, support your local community and help raise money for an incredibly worthwhile cause. And make sure you give the voluntary donation on the door, it is for charity after all.
