Watch out Brighton, there’s a new coffee house on the block. Presuming Ed opened its doors in December and is quickly establishing itself as a London Road favourite. Sister cafe to The Marwood, there’s everything you’ve come to expect from The Marwood, but on a larger scale.
Housed in a former HSBC bank on London Road, this places mixes car boot chic with interiors reminiscent of an achingly cool Hackney hangout. Graffiti is courtesy of Snub23, tables and chairs are cleverly crafted out of books and annuals and the menus give a cheeky nod to the 80s. There’s also free meeting room spaces, late night opening, unisex toilets (naturally) and the original safe from the days when it was an bank. Oh, and the coffee’s pretty good too.
